Researchers at Gallaudet University and the Center for Hearing and Communication (NYC) are conducting a research study focused on older adults who use cochlear implants. The study is evaluating two types of auditory and cognitive training programs to better understand how they may support speech understanding, attention, memory, and daily communication.
The 8-week training is completed entirely from home, with virtual support from clinicians. Participants also attend three in-person assessments—before training begins, one week after, and two months after it ends. These visits help measure the potential benefits of the training over time.
This research is part of a larger effort to improve rehabilitation tools and resources for older cochlear implant users. Your participation can help advance that goal.
