About the Study

This research study is exploring new potential options for individuals with asthma. Participants will assist researchers better understand how certain medications may work in managing asthma symptoms. Asthma is a chronic condition that affects breathing and quality of life, and researchers are continually looking for ways to improve the management of asthma.

Open to participants in the Raleigh, NC area—conveniently near UNC-Rex Hospital.

For Adults

Participants must be ages 18–65 and diagnosed with asthma for at least 12 months.

Study Visits

Complete 19 visits over 11 months.

Care & Support

Health exams and support team provided, plus compensation for time and travel.

Who Can Participate?

  • Adults ages 18–65
  • Diagnosed with asthma for at least 12 months
  • Currently using a rescue inhaler “as needed” or a daily steroid inhaler
  • Able to attend 19 visits over 11 months
  • Non-smoker for at least 6 months with limited smoking history
  • Other criteria may apply

What the Study
Involves:

All study visits take place near UNC-Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
Participants will be asked to take part in a series of study activities over approximately eight months.

19 visits over 11 months to monitor your health and progress
Using limited prescription medications and vitamins
Physical exams, lab work, and ECGs provided at no cost
Compensation for your time and travel

Compensation and Benefits:

Participants in this research study will receive compensation for their time and travel related to study visits. In addition, all study-related physical exams, lab tests, and ECGs will be provided at no cost. The research team is dedicated to supporting you throughout your participation, ensuring comfort and care at every step.
