Researchers at the University of California, Irvine and Boston Children’s Hospital are conducting a study to improve the quality of pictures we can take using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The goal is to better understand fetal brain development and to reduce the time needed to capture high-quality MRI images of a developing fetus.
This research is especially seeking pregnant women carrying a fetus diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD). Pregnant women with uncomplicated pregnancies may also be eligible.
If you choose to participate, your involvement will be brief and non-invasive.
Pregnant participants will receive $100 for their time and participation and, if desired, a CD or link to their images. By joining, you will be contributing to research that aims to improve MRI technology and provide insights into fetal brain development.
SIGN-UPPregnant women between 18–45 years old, less than 37 weeks pregnant, who can safely undergo MRI.
Yes. This study uses non-invasive MRI. There are no needles, no blood draws, and no sedation involved.
Some participants may be asked to return for a second MRI visit, but no more than two total visits are required.
You will be compensated $100 for your time and may receive a copy or link to your images.
