About the Study

Researchers at the Human Capability Lab at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas are looking for adults with a lower limb amputation to take part in the PROSPER trial — a training research study funded by the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Institutes of Health.

The goal of this research is to test a training program and gather honest feedback from prosthesis users. Your experience and input will help improve training programs for the broader limb loss community.

What to Expect

  • A brief eligibility check to see if you may qualify

  • One pre-training assessment visit — mobility tests and questionnaires

  • 12 training sessions over 4 weeks (3 sessions per week) at the UNLV Human Capability Lab. A safety harness is worn during all walking activities and study staff are present at every session

  • One post-training assessment visit — follow-up mobility tests and questionnaires

  • Wearing a lightweight activity monitor for one week before training begins and one week after it ends
